Berekuso Hill Station is an anticipatory development that remakes landscape as institution. As levels of environmental development accelerate across the city of Accra—like all Africa—the Brekuso Hill Station is an experiment in ecology. Sited in the town of Berekuso, on a summit opposite Ashesi University between Adenta and Aburi, Berekuso Hill Station is a project to grow a 20-acre arboretum and botanical garden as ecological refuge and counterpoint to the unchecked ecological pressure of rapid urbanization in the Greater Accra environ.
