Description

Set within a grove of heritage oak trees, the project weaves new construction into an existing natural landscape. Three new buildings are arranged to frame an open courtyard patio, preserving the mature oaks at the heart of the site. This shaded courtyard becomes the central gathering space—an outdoor room where dining, music, and community unfold beneath the canopy of old-growth trees.

Around the buildings, native Texas grasses and flowering plants create a landscape that feels both wild and intentional. The architecture is simple, modern, and durable—rooted in honest materials and designed with modular systems to balance craft, efficiency, and long-term resilience.

The project celebrates Austin’s food and music, honors the site’s natural beauty, and embodies LowDO’s values: building with context, minimizing environmental impact, and designing places that invite community to thrive.
